The northwest corner of Iowa is rich with character, culture, family values,
small business, and large industry. The people in Sioux County are warm, courteous,
and generous. There are many thriving churches in the area of many denominations. Local
industries include agricultural manufacturing and engineering, window manufacturing,
corporate marketing firms, medical equipment manufacturing, paint manufacturing, pharacuticals,
food processing, and more.
There are many smaller, family owned businesses in Sioux County
marketed directly to the consumer as well. "One nice thing about all of Sioux County,"
remarks Ben Petty, "is that the area strongly values the small business. Most people
would rather pay a little more and support their local businesses, than run to the
bigger cities and give it to someone who doesn't care that they are there. That's the
beauty of small town America."
Activities abound in Northwest Iowa, with everything from the
Tulip Festival in Orange City, to the many college activies of both Northwestern and Dordt
Colleges located in Sioux County.
For those seeking the convenience of the big cities, we are snuggled nicely between
two--Sioux City, Iowa and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Each around an hour from most
places in Sioux County.
